What Is It?

FDC Musical Chairs runs in two rounds — a team elimination round followed by an all-team championship final. Every single team member participates, and the team whose champion outlasts everyone else takes home full points.

The DJ controls the music, the crowd controls the noise, and one player from your team will carry your hopes into the final chair.

The DJ Factor

The DJ controls everything. The music can stop after 3 seconds or after 45 seconds — you never know. Our DJ is trained to build suspense, fake stops, and drop the music right when you let your guard down. Stay alert from the moment each round starts. Both rounds.

How It Works — Two Rounds

🏠 ROUND 1 — TEAM ELIMINATION

Each team plays Musical Chairs among their own members. All team members participate. One chair is removed each round until one player remains. That player becomes your team's Champion Player and advances to the Final.

👑 ROUND 2 — THE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Every team's Champion Player competes together in one final round of Musical Chairs. The last player seated wins 1st place for their entire team. 2nd last seated wins 2nd place, and so on down the line.

Rules

RULE 01

All registered team members must participate in Round 1. No skipping.

RULE 02

Players must walk — not run — around the chairs while music plays. Both rounds.

RULE 03

When music stops, find a seat. Any player without a seat is eliminated from that round.

RULE 04

No blocking, pushing, shoving, or physically preventing another player from sitting.

RULE 05

The last player seated in Round 1 is your team's Champion and advances to the Final.

RULE 06

Final round placement determines full team points. FDC judges' decisions are final.

Strategy & Tips

Round 1 — everyone matters. Your whole team plays in the internal round. Keep energy high, cheer your teammates, and identify who your strongest player is before the final begins.

Listen to the beat, not just the volume. Experienced players watch the DJ's hand — the music will stop right when you relax. Stay alert from start to finish in the Final.

🎯

Pick your chair early in the Final. Don't chase a chair when the music stops. While the music plays, identify your target chair and position yourself near it before the cut.

The whole team cheers in the Final. Your champion is carrying the team. Get loud, get behind them, and make them feel the energy. It makes a real difference.

Don't celebrate too early. Stay alert until the round is officially called. Players have been eliminated celebrating a seat they never fully sat in.
